“A Varsovian by birth, a Pole at heart, a citizen of the world – by talent.
”
C.K. Norwid
It goes without saying – the world loves Frédéric Chopin. The bicentennial anniversary of his birth has however stirred a true "Chopin-mania"... Countless reviews, competitions, concerts, festivals, congresses and every possible event planned for the upcoming year constitute a true tribute to the great Polish composer and an attempt to acquaint a wider audience with his artistic output.
We will have a chance to admire Chopin's works not only in Żelazowa Wola, Duszniki Zdrój or Warsaw, but also in Vienna, Paris, New York, Tokyo or Shanghai. The sound of the piano will flow under the Pyramids and... the International Space Station. ”Listening to these pieces helps a person to better understand the romantic beauty and the majesty of space” - Colonel George David Zamka, the head of the expedition, told the press.
The Chopin madness did not spare our company and thus we would like to celebrate the round anniversary by issuing an exceptional instrument – the Regius Nokturn
. The guitar sports a light maple fretboard with ebony inlays resembling a piano keyboard. To further emphasize its commemorative character, the obvious choice for the top finish – piano black – is adorned with the composer's signature and profile in white. The pickups used are Seymour Duncan Jazz + Jeff Beck in covers matching the finish.
The Regius Nokturn perfectly mirrors the spirit of the festivities, during which classical music will be intertwined with alternative interpretations of Chopin's works. The Rock Loves Chopin
Project will surely be found on many concert schedules.
The program's mastermind is Andrzej Matusiak, the director of Stołeczna Estrada, the cultural institution of the capital city of Warsaw, while the guitar playing, the arrangements and the production are handled by Radek Chwieralski, one of the most gifted guitar players of the young generation. The Rock Loves Chopin project proposes new arrangements of Chopin's works performed by Poland's top players: Jan Borysewicz, Wojtek Pilichowski, Anna Serafińska, Grzegorz Markowski, Patrycja Markowska and Włodek Tafel with the special appearance by Janusz Olejniczak – an outstanding pianist and performer of Chopin's works.
These modern interpretations of Chopin will be performed in the whole world, notably in Chicago, Paris, Berlin, under the pyramids of Giza and the World Expo in Shanghai.
We are proud to announce that you will be able to hear our instruments during the Rock Loves Chopin concerts. Apart form Wojtek Pilichowski, a well-known May-Player, our family was expanded by Radek Chwieralski. The Setius PRO 6 Nocturn, finished just like the Regius Chopin Tribute will be presented to Radek during the concert in Tricity.
