THE RASMUS (FI)

Eero Heinonen
THE RASMUS (FI)
Formed 11 years ago THE RASMUS rapidly climbed to the top, with numerous gold/platinum albums and singles (sales acceeding even 1,500.000 copies of one title worldwide), several Grammy Awards and international no.1 mega-hits like "In The Shadows", "First Day of My Life" or the most recent "Shot", the band has found their well-established place in the history of world's rock music.
We asked Eero if he's in need for a live-kicking passive 4-string, which he would always like to have at hand during the extensive touring, ans so he became the owner of a custom Mayones 4-string in a subtle white finish & custom equipment.
According to his wishes, the bass was built with a bolt-on construction, Alder body, Maple-Mahogany neck & Ebony fingerboard, subtle white body and black headstock, as well as a new option for Mayo basses - JP passive Delano pickups setup (no active electronic inside). Fretboard was also outlined with a custom personal inlay designed by Eero himself.

This is what Eero says, when asked about his new Mayo: "The sound reminds me a bit of a precision bass from Fender... I like that kind of sound very much, with a lot of rock middles. A quality bass with a very good middle area! The ebony fingerboard is very smooth and easy to play. Actually the bass is an enjoyment to play! It is well built and i think it will stay in my touring artillery for a long time to come."
After several months Eero was so satisfied with his Mayo that he decided to order another customized Froum Pi instrument. Initially the bass featured monolith cherry body finish but for the purpose of the new videoclip of The Rasmus he decided to give the instrument darker and more gloomy look. Below you can see the new looks of Mayones Forum Pi bass, quickly repainted to match the atmosphere of the new video clip "Livin' in the World Without You". Looks intriguing, doesn't it...
