Guy 'Vortie' Van Campenhout is an active contributor to the Belgian rockmetal scene. Apart from playing guitars in Notti del Terrore, he does the vocals in bands: Angeli di Pietra and Poseydon. Besides Vortie is involved in a known Belgian musicsite "Kwadratuur", and works for the metal radioshow Mental on FM Brussel.
Vortie comments: "The first thing I noticed about this baby was its beautiful red colour. Sure, I liked the redburst finish when I saw it online (otherwise I wouldn’t have chosen it), but when I first saw it in real life, I was amazed. Not only that, but the finish allround is fantastic. The cream binding nicely separates the front from the back and the beautiful back in natural finish is to drool over. The ebony fretboard is the small personal touch, but ebony just stands out in look and feel. And all this even before I plugged her in!".
"Now I’ve played my share of brands and types, and I’ve never quite found one guitar that stands out as having the ultimate touch or feel. It felt as being an eternal quest for the non-existing guitar, and I’ve played brands like Jackson, BC Rich, Washburn and Gibson. And then I felt this one.
Even though it’s not particularly heavy, you do feel as though you’ve got something solid dangling around your neck, which is nice. Also, this guitar isn’t top heavy, which makes it easy to play. Not to mention the extremely smooth neck, which makes your hand glide effortlessly from the lowest frets to the highest in one subtle movement."
"The playability of the Setius sticks out, because it is so easy to play and it feels very natural. The five way toggle switch responds easily and swiftly, and the knobs just twiddle with ease. The pick-ups give me that nice and snappy sound I want, especially when I blast them full force through my set-up. The great thing about this guitar is that it doesn’t lose any of its trademarks in sound what setup you play it through, and that is what I want. I want a guitar with personality, not just a dime a dozen.
"I’ve got enough guitars hanging around, but I keep on grabbing this one, time and again. I guess it’s safe to say I’ve fallen in love, big time and I am pretty sure – no, I am convinced – that this will surely not be my last Mayones."
