Today lesson is a shred solo that combines different techniques like alternate picking, tapping, legato and sweep.

BAR 5-11
The solo starts at bar 4 with an alternate picking lick that combine D minor pentatonic and D minor pentatonic with 9th added, followed by a series of bending and a final slide back to position III of the neck D minor Pentatonic:
1 – b3 – 4 – 5 - b7
D – F – G – A – C
D minor Pentatonic add 9th
1 – 9 - b3 – 4 – 5 - b7
D – E - F – G – A – C
BAR 11-14
A legato lick on the D Dorian mode 3-notes per string, the 16th notes patterns is interrupted with a 32nd notes triplet, that gives an “accelerando” feel to the phrase.
BAR 14-15
The previously legato phrase morph into a tapping lick based on the Fmaj7 arpeggio that over imposed on Dm7 chord produce tension 9 Dm7 Chord:
1 – b3- 5 – b7
D – F – A – C
Fmaj7 Arpeggio
1 – 3 – 5 – 7
F – A – C - E
Fmaj7 Arpeggio over Dm7 Chord
1 – b3- 5 – b7-9
D – F – A – C – E
BAR 16 -19
These four bars include a mixture of alternate picking and sweep picking.
BAR 20-26
Is a long tapping lick on the D Dorian mode that uses string skipping to break the linearity of the phrase.
