Heinrich
Another Polish musician joins the Mayo family - this time it's bassplayer Filip 'Heinrich' Hałucha. Filip is a member of several bands, which significantly differ in styles. However, equipped with our Custom bass, he finds no difficulty in fitting in Rootwater [crossover] nor Vesania [black metal]. "A very wide array of sounds helps me to sonically blend with every band I play in."says Heinrich about his Slogan 5. More about the bass and Rootwater's autumn tour with Behemoth later in this article.
"I played a lot of different "top" instruments, but when it came to recording, I embarked on a quest to find the perfect one. Searching through music stores and asking my fellow bass players I found Mayones. This was IT." - Heinrich tells the story about his first contact with our instruments - "The studio sound engineers scratched their heads and kept asking 'How is that possible it sounds the way it does?!' Without further hesistation I contacted Mayones and there it is! I got myself my own Custom Slogan 5!"
Heinrich' instrument is elegantly "dressed" in a Macassa ebony top and equipped with a standard set of Bartolini Soapbars H-H and Aguilar OBP-3 active electronics. Extra options include a Hipshot D-Tuner, red LED dots on the upper edge of the ebony fretboard which, along with the signed truss rod cover, further emphasizes the dark character of the instrument. "This bass rocks hard! It is the power of sound, an incredibly ergonomic weapon deceitfully dressed in beauty. A very wide array of sounds helps me to sonically blend with every band I play in, and the custom options add to the overall efficiency. I have already recorded two albums with the Mayo and I wouldn't use anything else."
ROOTWATER's music is a crossover of many styles: from heavy, hardcore riffs, complex rhythms of thrash and mystical ambient, to punk style expression underlined with charizmatic vocals. In March 2007 the band released their latest album 'Limbic System', which was presented immediately after its debut live at Mystic Tour 2007, during which the band played over 30 concerts throughout Poland side by side with Virgin Snatch, Frontside and Hunter. Rootwater also took part in Rockfestival in St. Petersburg and Hunterfest in Szczytno.
The band's nearest plans is taking part in the next Przystanek Woodstock (4 August), and in September Rootwater will support 'Polish Apostasy Tour' promoting the latest album by worldwide metal giants - Behemoth! More info on their website: www.rootwater.pl
Apart from his bass work in Rootwater, Heinrich is also a part of several other bands, including being a founding member of Vesania. Vesania took its earthly form by the end of the year 1997, however the band states that "VESANIA existed since time immemorial. It only needed some time to find people. People who would recognize Her meaning." Although their creative output is clearly marked by the legends of Norwegian black metal, Vesania follows its own path through this dark style.
Since their foundation, the band released a split CD 'Moonastray' (2002), two LPs 'Firefrost Arcanum' (2003) and 'God the Lux' (2005) and appears regularly on festivals throughout Europe, including Scandinavia. Vesania is currently recording their next album, which should be released this fall. Shortly after releasing the album the band will set out on another European tour.
Another project Filip participates in is Masachist, including musicians from Polish underground legend Yattering, and Unseen founded with Mauser, the guitar player for Vader.
