MYRAH (S)

Myrah´s journey started in the early 2005 in north of Sweden with the passion for metal and a lot of emotions. The first years of activity were essential for the band to evolve technically and refine its own musical style. Every member had slightly different music tastes, which resulted in a different perspective of gothic metal.

During these first stages of the band, one single, one music video and an EP were released and presented to the Swedish metal and rock scene and dozens of gigs were performed throughout Sweden. In the year 2008 Myrah released their second EP “Death & Despair” and their music has developed to a much more darker and heavier sound then before, but still with a melodic touch. And now everything was about to change.

 

In the year that followed, Myrah reemerged with full force and new musical ideas and started to compose new songs, with strong lyrics and outstanding riffs, without forgetting their roots in gothic metal. In 2009 Myrah recorded their first full-length album “Six Feet Down”. It was recorded, mixed and mastered in Empire Studio Frösön Sweden by Markus Edvardsson (Sanctification, Aeon, Souldrainer). The final result was really beyond the initial expectations of the band. So in January 2010 the album titled "Six Feet Down” was finally released in their own company “Myrah Production“ and it has been well received by critics and fans, and considered a very promising album.

Myrah have played at Metalcamp festival in Slovenia, Rockweekend festival in Sweden, Storsjöyran festival in Sweden and Meli Open Air in Germany, just to mention a few and they are delivering a distinct sound and attitude to the crowd, and receiving continuously great feedback. Since 2010 Myrah cooperates with Mayones on a full band endorsement basis. Band' bass player, Micael Svan, decided to go for a Patriot 5 Classic with all its standard features.

After discovering I had a sponsorship deal with Mayones, I sat down at a friend's place to search for the bass that was going to be the musical extension of myself. I knew that I wanted a black five string bass with active pickups; my only source of information being the great references I'd heard about the brand previously.

I scrolled through the various basses on the homepage, stopping when I saw the Patriot Classic. I knew this was the one.  My hands were shaking as I opened the case, seeing my new bass lying there. Picking it up for the first time & taking in its beauty, I knew that this instrument was something above anything I've ever held or seen before.

Red stripes glow in the finish between the black, which reaches from the front around to the back, extending into the neck. These touches takes this bass to a whole new level of visceral beauty.

Shouldering the bass for the first time, my enthusiasm for this incredible instrument only grew further. The balanced body is comfortable, and the neck makes accessing all frets easy; smooth is the word. The sound is exceptional in every frequency I explore and can be tweaked to favour by the trusty knobs.

It breathes quality all the way from the finish down to the lowest tone. This divine bass is a modern form of Cupidos' arrows from Mayones, making me feel even more in love with music, inspiring and driving my creative spirit.
