LastDayHere

Jure Gorjanc
LastDayHere
LastDayHere is a story about five individuals who love to create music. The band steps out of the stereotype perspective of modern rock. Well based instrumental parts are spiced up with amazing vocals, and can easily be enjoyed by even the most pretentious listener. Their music is outstanding, authentic and can especially be distinguished by its vocal parts, which is also true for their live performances.

LastDayHere redefines modern rock and metal genre. Mixing modern influences with the sounds these genres produced over the last 40 years and adding incredible energy to the mix, giving LastDayHere their unique and accessible sound.
Their debut album "From Pieces Created“ consist of all the elements that a modern listener wants to hear - melodic parts, hard riffs and catchy breakdowns. Great music is spiced up with energetic vocals that turn from distinguished growl to clean singing.
LastDayHere
For LastDayHere every gig is as important as if it was the last, which is in accordance to the band's name based on the saying "live every day as if it was your last". All that we have is this moment and it has to be seized to the maximum. The result is a convincing and powerful live performance every time they hit the stage.
Recently band's guitarist, Jure Gorjanc, convinced by the beauty and beef sound of our instruments decided to order a mighty Setius GTM 7 in Transparent Graphite Burst finish equipped with DiMarzio AirNorton 7 and D Sonic 7 pickups. Here are some of his thoughts about the new axe.
Let me start with the thing you notice first. The awesome look of this guitar. Before I ordered the guitar I checked a lot of photos online and let me tell you one thing – they don't do the justice to it once you see the real thing. When the guitar arrived at my doorstep the first thing I did when I opened the case, was staring at it for about 5 minutes...
I really love the headstock shape and the position of the tuners (4 on top and 3 below). The color of the guitar is Transparent Graphite Burst, which with the combination on flamed maple top look really beautiful. I'm not really a fan of gloss finishes since every time you touch it it leaves a mark. But this one is different.
After rehearsal or a gig I'm not even bothered by the fingertip marks on it because they aren't really visible. At this point I can tell you that beside the maple top, the body of guitar is made of mahogany. I've been playing mahogany guitars for some years now and the combination with maple top just makes it better. The body is a bit smaller than I was used with my previous guitars, but I soon realized that it was just for the better.
The weight of the guitar is in range of other mahogany guitars which makes it easy to carry on you for gigs. Lately we've started doing 1,5 hour gigs and after the set I don't feel like I carried something really heavy on my back all night.
Now let me come to one the most important thing on a guitar for me. The neck. I've used really thin neck for last couple of years but the neck on Setius really tops them all. It fits perfectly into my hand. I can honestly say it's the most comfortable neck I've ever played.
My Setius is equipped with DiMarzio D Sonic 7 and Air Norton 7 pickups, which makes it able to play all from blues to most brutal death metal. I simply love the sound. Since I mostly use distorted rhythm sound, I mainly use the bridge pickup. The clarity on the distortion is amazing and the bass response I get from playing on lower stings just makes me laugh every time I feel it standing near the amp.

Also one of the great things is that when I play a pinch harmonic (which is quite often since I love them) this guitar really screams. It really didn't take me long to dial in the sound I like. This guitar also made me spend more time with the clean sound since I can get most amazing clean sounds I've ever been able. With the coil splitting I'm able to gear really nice vintage cleans, but I prefer to use the middle position on both humbuckers to get the sound I like.
I can honestly say that I've found the guitar of my dreams. It has everything I ever desired – the sound, the configuration and of course the looks. So thank you Mayones for making my dream come true and letting me be a part of the family among such great artists.
