DREAMTONE (TUR)

Having played with names like Blind Guardian or Megadeth, Dreamtone is now seen as of the most recognisable power progressive metal band from Turkey. Band's guitarist, Onur Özkoç, in search for a perfect instrument started cooperation with our company and ordered Mayones Setius PRO with his own custom options. "It certainly has that perfect touch which is lacking in so many guitars. Add that to your custom design and setup, well, there ends the quest to find your ultimate instrument."

Active since 2001, Dreamtone is one of the leading figures in Turkish metal scene. The band’s sound reflects various influences ranging from Blind Guardian to John Williams, creating a solid metal sound with pure orchestral moments. Up to date, the band has released one single (Pandemonium), one sold-out demo/album (Unforeseen Reflections), one full length album (Sojourn) and is scheduled to release a single titled Snowfall as a harbinger of their next album. Recently, the band has played with names like Megadeth, Blind Guardian, Andromeda and many more. The band is also scheduled to be the support act for Dream Theater and Blind Guardian in several shows this year.

To support Dreamtone Mayones made a special or even dream guitar for band's axeman - Onur. "First of all, I must mention the superior quality of craftsmanship on this guitar. It certainly has that perfect touch which is lacking in so many guitars. Add that to your custom design and setup, well, there ends the quest to find your ultimate instrument." - he claims. After intense discussions few weeks before, Onur decided to order Mayones Setius PRO with the following options of his choice: flamed maple top in transparent graphite colour, EMG 81/85 active pickups and ebony fretboard with Onur's own designed 'Moon Eclipse' inlays.

"I was curious about how EMGs would sound on a mahogany-bodied guitar, and the result turned out to be way better than I expected. I have EMGs installed on other axes too, and I can tell that none gets even close to the sound of Mayo. 81 in the bridge comes with serious amount of power in the low end, producing a strong yet clear sound serving perfectly in rhythm playing. 85 in the neck has that creamy sound I love in clean passages. And I occasionally switch in-between for lead parts of various tonalities. Overall, the guitar sounds beautifully whether playing some lead licks, heavy rhythms or clean tone passages." - describes the sound of his new guitar and adds: "To cut a long story short, my Setius thoroughly meets all my expectations, and it will definitely shape the sound of the next Dreamtone release."

Currently Dreamtone, in collaboration with Greek artist Iris Mavraki, combines forces with a philarmonia orchestra in their Project titled “Dreamtone & Iris Mavraki’s Neverland”. This strongly orchestral project features guest appearances by highly acclaimed artists such as Hansi Kürsch (Blind Guardian), Tom Englund (Evergrey), Mike Baker & Gary Wehrkamp (Shadow Gallery) and many other musicians.
