DEFECT DESIGNER (RUS)

Music is and has always been something that is not possible to imagine life without. Siberian extreme metal act Defect Designer have known each other since their early childhood.

Defect Designer started to play death metal in 2005 when Dmitry "Mr. Scavenger" joined Peter "Carbonized" (guitars, the founder), Pavel "SkipJack" (Bass), Konstantin "Gwelu" (Drums), John "Hell" (guitars) and proposed to try to play heavier stuff that he already had composed and that was waiting to be played.

 

 

In 2007 Defect Designer entered a local studio “Megaton” where the band recorded the four track promo CD "W". Having sent the promo worldwide, the band received plenty of positive feedback and interest in their work. “Just wanted to let you know that I got your CD today. I am enjoying it very much!! It's excellent stuff.“ (Neil Kernon, producer – Nile, Cannibal Corpse, e.t.c.).

In the end of 2007 the founding member Peter is replaced by Kirill, the band decides to move forward and record the first full-length. Having got no proper studio in 4000 miles around Defect Designer without any support and yet being not signed accumulated own funds and went to Hertz Studio (Vader, Decapitated, Behemoth, Sceptic), Poland where during one half of February, 2008, recorded and mixed 12 songs with Wojtek and Slavek Wieslawski. “The most strange band I’ve ever heard.” (Wojtek Wieslawski, Hertz studio).

In 2009 the band gets signed by Italian My Kingdom Music becoming the first Siberian death metal band to be signed by a foreign label and having a worldwide release, the band released the first full-length CD “WAX” worldwide - 7th September 2009. A couple of weeks before the released date Siberian act Defect Designer gets noticed by Norwegian Forces Of Satan Records (managed by Gorgoroth member Infernus and Vile Horg) and releases the old promo CD “W” - also worldwide.

Defect Designer's guitar player, Dmitry, uses a customized Setius GTM 7 Gothic with deep carved ash grained top, Seymour Duncan Blackouts 7 active pickups, neck and headstock with white binding and Ebony fretboard with red LED front markers.

I think first time we heard about Mayones Guitars in 2008 during the recording session of our debut full-length in Poland, Hertz studio. Much later we explored Mayones guitars not just on words. We came to local distributor to see the gutar weapons - guitars that can be done by artist's specification. It was a big surprise for us first to now that we do have a distributor close and that someone here really does understand what a quality guitar should be! 

That day I did not expect anything so special. Defect Designer was a quintet and I was just interested to see the new guitars, I did not think I'll hear much difference. And we were in need of quality gear background for best sound and best connection with instruments.

We spent all anxious evening trying different instruments, tried dozens! All possible electronics, tremolo systems, all possible wood modifications of Mayones. We had best chance to compare and I remember amazement in our eyes. That very day I understood what I want to have myself and actually I discovered my sound - wood and electronics I'll have.

What could you wish if you play death metal? Devastating output, eternal sustain, crystal clear sound, strings are contnuation of fingertips. Every feature if heard, and same time it sounds very powerful. Harmonics sound just orgazmic. I cannot describe all on words, I'll just be "lost in translation", just look at this tiny monster - it's modern convenience and uncompromising sound in one gorgeous body.
