Chaoswave was born in the summer 2003 thanks to the initiative of Danish guitar player Henrik “Guf” Rangstrup (former guitarist of Sinphonia), who a year before had moved to Italy for personal reasons. His aim was to combine aggressive and powerful riffing with a more melodic structure.

A four-track demo simply entitled ‘Chaoswave’ was the first release of the band. It was released in November 2004, distributed in around 1500 copies, and gained a long series of good reviews.

The band issued its debut CD "The White Noise Within" in 2006 via the dutch label DVS Records. In September 2008 Chaoswave signed with the American label Nightmare Records for a worldwide release of "Dead Eye Dreaming", who released the album on November 25 in USA and Canada. The German label Silverwolf, together with SPV Records, later released "Dead Eye Dreaming" in Europe and Japan on March 6, 2009. An Australian release is being planned as we speak. The release of “Dead Eye Dreaming” is currently being promoted heavily, a.o. through the upcoming European tour in September/October as support for Evergrey, as well as headlining and festival shows in and outside Italy.

Chaoswave have through the years become a well respected name in the Italian and International music scene. The band's guitarist and drummer are both writers for 2 of the biggest musicians magazines in Italy: Axe Magazine and Percussioni. The band has also gained numerous endorsments withMeinL Cymbals, AXIS Pedals, SIT Strings, Urban Board Shoes, and finally - Mayones.

The bass we built for our endorser, Michele Mura, was a 5 string Patriot based on a standard Classic set-up with some custom options of his choice: Quilted Maple top in Transparent Black Gloss finish, acrylic inlay on 11÷13 frets and Custom circuitry made for Michele by Italian company Magnetics Pickup (www.magneticspickups.com).

I decided to apply to the Patriot Classic model only aesthetic changes because to me the wooden combination was already perfect. I added a quilted maple top and a personalized inlay on the 11th and 13th fret.

As for the electronics, I have chosen custom Alnico V pickups and active preamp made by the Italian brand Magnetics pickups.

This bass guitar incorporates both elegance and the right "evil" look. It's light, it's perfectly balanced, and it is very easy to play. The quality of the wood and the manufacturing leaves you speechless. Even if you connect it without the preamp settings, the pickups "pierce" very distinctly through the mix.

The active electronics emphasize the frequencies without corrupting the basic sound. I can even choose to use the pickups on active/passive mode and set the passive tone in both modes. Pretty cool!!!!

I can honestly say that I have the ultimate bass guitar in my hands!
