Afekth

The band AFEKTH was created by Maikh in early 2008. Music of the band is described as an experimental metal. Since 2008 the band went through some changes and started serious music activity with energetic debut gig and EP "The First Two Names" in 2009. In that year the band played many gigs around the country. The most known act took the place in Cracow on Before Party of Knockout Festival, where bands like Meshuggah, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Testament or Cynic played.

 

 

 

The band shortly got recognized and appeared on many music sites like Interia.pl. The band got good reviews, was mentioned as an artist of a day on Muzzo.pl and enjoyed another few successful gigs. After some time the band started to make a new material and 2010 will be the year of their upcoming long play debut album.

In support of the young but high aspiring band we prepared for the guitar player Maikh a seven string Setius GTM equipped with two mighty DiMarzio D Activator 7 pickups and adorned with "717" custom inlay.

At first, I would like to thank whole Mayones crew for a great co-operation and well done built guitar. My model is Setius GTM custom shop. It's hard to explain beauty, quality and sound of this guitar, because what I got is the best seven string, which I've ever played.

Firstly, I should mention workmanship, which arouses admiration. Aesthetic sense and carrying out of small details are the most important things, which I should also mention, because the rest must be seen in reality. I can be just full of admiration, that we have in Poland such a great brand.

But back to the guitar, I will take sound on the spot. That guitar can bring absolutely everything from every gear and it still will have clear sound without any fizzness and noise in signal. During recording and analyzing it, I couldn't believe, how that sound is clear and still fat and loud. This is what I needed in a guitar and here I have it. Clean sounds are warm, what I personally like and exact distortion sound is loud and fat as I mentioned. I can gain very fat metal distortion sound without making any necessary fizz and noise. And in all that sounds I still have good presence, which is very important here, because we gain low fat sound from mahogany body, which still has great clarity.

Next thing is comfort. This guitar is very comfortable and even if it's still seven string we feel still very good on it. Speed and flexibility is still here, which some people could argue about, because it's seven string. And even with low tuning, this guitar plays great and is perfectly set, height of the strings is great and still low and of course it's all about comfort once again.

To sum up, this is the instrument, which in right hands will play perfectly and during mixing process producer can easily tweak great sounds, because this is the perfect guitar for shows, but also for the studio. And everything under wings of our Polish brand Mayones. I admit, I'm full of admiration.
